Europeana White Paper: Transforming World with Culture

'90% of our heritage has not yet been digitized. This digitally available 10% represents 300 million objects, only one third of which (34%) is currently available online, with barely 3% of that works suitable for real creative re-use.' According to the aforementioned statistical data the White Paper published by Europeana Foundation, underlines the value of cultural heritage content re-use as a strategic medium for inclusive, sustainable and smart growth and encourages the creation and smart utilization of digital tools in Tourism, Research, Education and Creative Industries. The paper attempts to incentivize policy makers and cultural organizations to support the development and re-use of high quality digital cultural heritage material and to preserve it through diverse funding opportunities.
