New Work Plan for Culture (2015-2018)

The New Work Plan for Culture (2015-2018) addresses the key challenges of cultural organizations and meets the needs of SMEs and the creative industries at national and European level in the context of creating a global digital market culture.

The new work program is structured around a central axis of the Europe 2020 strategy and focuses on issues expected to bring clear added value in the EU and encourages cross-sectoral cooperation, given the twofold nature - economic and cultural - civilization.

The sectoral priorities of the new program are:

A. Accessible and inclusive culture,

B. Cultural heritage,

C. Segments of culture and creativity: creative economy and innovation,

D. Promotion of cultural diversity, culture in external relations of the EU and mobility.

Digital sustainability prominently through distinct actions that are necessary and in the four sectoral priorities.

  • Promoting access to culture through digital means: policies and strategies for audience development
  • Skills, training and transfer of knowledge: traditional and emerging occupations in the field of cultural heritage
  • Cultural and creative intersections to promote innovation, economic sustainability and social inclusion.
  • Ιdentification of innovative measures to promote entrepreneurship and new business models in the cultural and creative sectors.
  • Sustainable cultural tourism
