Publicity event for the project "Digitization and Enhancement of Foundation's Michael Baron Tositsa Cultural Heritage"

PostScriptum completed the Project "Publicity event for the project "Digitization and Enhancement of Foundation's Michael Baron Tositsa Cultural Heritage", which was implemented under the NSRF and the Operational Programme "Digital Convergence". With a view to maintaining and highlighting the special collection of the Museum, the project elevated the collection of the Folklore Museum of Metsovo, which is the unique Museum of Folk Art regarding the mainland.

Part of the project was the digitization and documentation of critical part of the collection of the Folklore Museum Metsovo and its introduction to MuseumPlus, one of the best collections management systems.

The key points of the project included also the the design of website, interactive applications such as "Living History", the "Timeline" and a crowdsourcing application called "Memories". The user is also able to see the Museum collection online through eMuseumPlus system. Moreover, an application for smartphones and tablets was designed with which users are able to start a unique tour. Finally, a videl of 10'-15 ' was created, which is available both in the physical space of the Museum and its website and introduces the user/visitor to the history and culture of Metsovo.

The project aimed to contribute to the promotion of the special identity of Metsovo, while informing younger generations about the folk history of the place with the ultimate purpose of maintaining historical continuity and strengthening the local community.

The meeting will be held ον Wednesday, June 10th 2015 at 11:00 in the Student Residence of the Foundation Baron Michael Tositsa, Tositsa 1, Kato Kifissia, Greece.
