Digitization and Documentation of OTE Museum of Telecommunications’ collection

OTE Telecommunications Museum consists a private initiative for PostScriptum and concerns the digitization and documentation of an immense volume of objects belonging to the museum’s collection. More specifically, 18.800 objects were documented and digitized as well as 100 hours of video related not only to the history of Greek telecommunications but also to the Greek society in general.

For the implementation of the project a study of international best practices of documentation and references (sites) followed by similar organisation was devised and delivered. Finally, OTE Telecommunications Museum was equipped in a twofold aspect, both in terms of internal infrastructure, by adopting the MuseumPlus collection management system as well as in terms of extroversion, by implementing eMuseumPlus. Both, organise Museum’s collections digitally with accuracy and at the same time they make them accessible to the public.
