The archive of Costas Tsoclis, one of the most important figures in contemporary Greek art, is entering a new phase of digital organisation, documentation and public presentation. The project is being implemented on behalf of Katoptron, a non-profit civil partnership whose purpose is to study, record, digitally preserve and promote the work of Costas Tsoclis, as well as to support its dissemination in Greece and abroad.

The project concerns the development, organisation, digitisation, documentation, management and presentation of the artist’s archive, with the aim of creating a modern, secure and scientifically documented digital infrastructure. It represents a substantial intervention in the preservation and promotion of his artistic legacy, establishing the conditions for the archive to be organised according to contemporary standards, safeguarded in the long term and given renewed momentum within the digital environment.

PostScriptum plays an important role in the implementation of the project as a partner of the contractor, MainSys. Drawing on its expertise in cultural technology, digital content management and the promotion of cultural data, PostScriptum contributes to key aspects of the project’s delivery. Its contribution includes, among other areas, administrative monitoring, the writing and editing of online content, the documentation and digital deposit of cultural data, and the enrichment of Wikipedia entries, thereby strengthening public access and the dissemination of knowledge.

Through the documentation process, the archive material is recorded, classified, enriched with metadata and integrated into an organised cultural content management system. In this way, the foundations are laid both for the secure preservation of the archive items and for their wider dissemination to different audiences. Researchers, educators, school pupils, students, cultural professionals and the wider public will be able to engage with the work of Costas Tsoclis through new digital pathways of knowledge, study and interpretation.

The documentation of the archive is not limited to the simple recording and classification of items. Rather, it is developing into a comprehensive digital environment for knowledge, visibility and participatory access, through which the work of Costas Tsoclis can be reintroduced to the public by contemporary means. This initiative contributes to the preservation of cultural memory, the strengthening of research and education, and the creation of new forms of communication between the artist’s work, younger generations and international audiences.

Finally, Stefanos Kollias, Chair of the Board of the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology Network (GRNET) and Professor Emeritus at the National Technical University of Athens, presents the Pharos AI Factory and discusses its significance for culture.

The visit of distinguished Chinese filmmaker Lu Chuan to Athens marked a special moment of cultural dialogue and creative exchange between Greece and China. The visit was organised in collaboration with PostScriptum’s East Meets West in Greece (EMWG) initiative and the Sino-Hellenic Performing Arts Alliance, bringing Greek audiences into contact with one of the most important voices in contemporary Chinese cinema.

A graduate in directing from the Beijing Film Academy, Lu Chuan is a director, screenwriter and producer, and one of the most widely recognised filmmakers of the younger generation of Chinese cinema. His films have received international acclaim and distinctions at major festivals, highlighting his distinctive ability to transform real events into universal stories.

As part of the tribute to his work, two of his most acclaimed films, Mountain Patrol and City of Life and Death, were screened. Through their powerful cinematic language, audiences had the opportunity to engage with questions of morality, memory and human resilience. The screenings demonstrated how cinema can transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, creating a shared space for reflection and emotional engagement.

A particular highlight of the visit was the masterclass held at the Stavrakos Film School. Lu Chuan shared with students, professionals and film enthusiasts experiences from his creative journey, his artistic choices and the complex relationship between historical reality and cinematic storytelling. The discussion that followed reaffirmed the importance of personal encounters and the meaningful exchange of ideas.

East Meets West in Greece was created to strengthen cooperation between East and West, with culture serving as a bridge. At a time when understanding between cultures is more necessary than ever, Lu Chuan’s presence in Greece gave meaningful expression to this mission, bringing together people, ideas and different cultural narratives, while opening up new prospects for future collaboration between Greece and China.

In 2026, PostScriptum celebrates 35 years of creative engagement with culture. Since 1991, our journey has been shaped by the meeting of culture, art, technology and, above all, people. Our clients, partners and team members form an extended community that, for three and a half decades, has shared ideas, knowledge and experiences, developing new ways to safeguard, document, manage and promote cultural heritage.

Thirty-five years filled with stories and collaborations that do more than simply record our journey: they continue to illustrate our future, in the Company of Culture.

Among the 35 defining milestones of this journey are projects that broke new ground for Greek culture. These include the Digital National Gallery, which marked the transition of one of the country’s foremost cultural organisations into the digital age; the Georgios Jakobides Digital Museum, the first fully digital museum in Greece; the implementation of MuseumPlus at the Acropolis Museum; the digital organisation and promotion of the Cavafy Archive; and the Alekos Fassianos Museum, where documentation, the museum experience and contemporary technology come together with the work and world of this major Greek artist.

PostScriptum participated in the Delphi Economic Forum XI as part of the panel discussion organised by WikiEllinisti under the theme “The dynamics of the Greek language in the age of Artificial Intelligence”, actively contributing to the dialogue on the strategic role of the Greek language within today’s digital environment.

The international promotion and institutional protection of the Greek language formed the central focus of the discussion. A shared conclusion among the participants was the need for a holistic approach combining technology, education and culture, with the aim of strengthening and sustainably developing the Greek language. The panellists highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors, academia and civil society in shaping a strong and sustainable linguistic ecosystem.

More specifically, George Koumoutsakos, Permanent Representative of Greece to UNESCO, highlighted the importance of the soft power derived from the Greek language and Greek identity as a factor enhancing the country’s international influence. He also underlined that, within the framework of the recent governmental mandate assigned to him for the development and implementation of a strategy for the international promotion of the Greek language, every available means and method, both traditional and modern, would be utilised.

Subsequently, George Mikros, Professor of Digital Humanities at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, stressed the need to consolidate and leverage the linguistic wealth of the Greek language, while also pointing to investment opportunities arising from the use of public documents through repositories such as Diavgeia, the National Printing House and the Hellenic Parliament. He explained that, provided such data become publicly accessible and processable through a unified digital identifier, they could substantially contribute to the development of the sector with the support of institutional and governmental bodies. He further referred to the limited digital footprint of the Greek language, emphasising the importance of improving the quality of large language models to establish robust infrastructure for the future. Finally, he highlighted the potential of the education system, proposing the active involvement of secondary school pupils in the creation of new informational resources on Wikimedia platforms. Emphasis was also placed on the need to invest in cultural context.

Vassilis Katsouros, Director of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing at the Athena Research Center, underscored the importance of cultivating a collaborative culture from the earliest stages of education, while also highlighting the role of higher education institutions. He noted that the critical challenge of our time lies in finding a balance between technological sovereignty and digital survival, while stressing the need to respect intellectual property and creative intelligence. He also highlighted the importance of evaluating technological systems related to the Greek language to ensure the quality and reliability of the knowledge produced.

Kostas Konstantinidis, CEO of PostScriptum and Chairman of the Board of WikiEllinisti, focused on the importance of knowledge dissemination, emphasising that the structured organisation of data constitutes a fundamental prerequisite for its efficient retrieval and interconnection. He also stressed the need for collective action and a coordinated approach through the “Quadruple Helix” model, namely the collaboration between the state, businesses, civil society and research institutions. In closing, he highlighted the need to formulate realistic strategies and collaborative prospects for the effective and sustainable strengthening of the Greek language.

Concluding the panel, Aris Katopodis, Scientific Advisor to WikiEllinisti and moderator of the discussion, summarised the key outcomes of the conversation and noted that the underrepresentation of the Greek language in today’s digital world contributes to a deficit not only of knowledge but also of influence. He recognised that WikiEllinisti can serve as a catalyst for organising initiatives aimed at strengthening the Greek linguistic and cultural presence online. He closed the discussion by observing that the current international questioning of long-established values, together with the profound global reassessment of priorities and principles, demonstrates the pressing need to invest in a form of influence characterised by qualities inherent to the Greek language -such as moderation, rationality and dialogue, captivating complexity and refined cultural sensitivity.

PostScriptum’s participation in the discussion reaffirms its commitment to developing innovative solutions that strengthen the digital footprint of the Greek language and support its position in the new era of knowledge and Artificial Intelligence.

The implementation of the project “Development, organisation, digitisation, documentation, management and promotion of the Alekos Fassianos archive”, currently underway at the Alekos Fassianos Museum, marks a significant step towards the preservation and promotion of contemporary Greek artistic production.

The Museum, which opened in 2023, is a contemporary cultural institution dedicated to the complete body of work of the iconic Greek artist, spanning his career from 1956 until the end of his life. The building, designed by architect Kyriakos Krokos in close collaboration with Fassianos himself, functions as a unified work of art, where architecture, handcrafted details and the artist’s distinctive visual language coexist organically.

The Museum’s permanent exhibition features paintings, collages, objects and a rich body of archival material, highlighting themes inspired by Athens, everyday life and Greek mythology. At the same time, the Museum is developing a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, educational activities and public events, further strengthening the connection between art and wider audiences

PostScriptum plays a central role in the implementation of the project, having undertaken the development and delivery of key services for the systematic management and promotion of the archival material. These activities include the cataloguing, archiving and digitisation of primary materials, as well as their scholarly documentation, with the aim of creating a comprehensive and reliable digital repository.

In parallel, a digital preservation strategy is being developed, alongside the implementation of a digital repository system through the MuseumPlus RIA platform, ensuring the long-term protection and accessibility of the material. Within this framework, digital educational applications are also being designed to enhance knowledge dissemination and enrich audience engagement, while crowdsourcing initiatives—such as contributions to Wikipedia—are being carried out

By leveraging new technologies for the organisation, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, PostScriptum remains committed to its mission of accelerating the digital maturity of cultural organisations. In doing so, it helps ensure that contemporary art remains open, accessible and meaningfully connected to today’s audiences.

Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.”

On Monday, 10 November 2025, at the well-attended “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Amphitheatre of the War Museum, the new digital, interactive exhibit titled “Evzones: A Living History – Uniforms and Symbols of Freedom” was successfully presented. This innovative project is a donation from the Civil Non-Profit Company Fermeli to the War Museum, implemented by the company PostScriptum thanks to the generous sponsorship of PeopleCert.

The exhibit has been integrated into the Museum’s permanent collection and is available to visitors on the first floor, right next to the exit of the exhibition area.

It consists of a state-of-the-art large interactive screen that allows users to explore the historical trajectory of the Evzone units and to discover the eight official uniforms of the Presidential Guard. Visitors can access fascinating information and rich multimedia material about the name, origin, construction materials, colours, and symbolism of each component of the uniforms, which have been meticulously and artistically designed by visual artist and graphic designer Kalypso Evdokidou.

The event opened with remarks by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Antonios Oikonomou, who emphasized that “the Evzones are a timeless point of reference for the Nation—symbols of pride, discipline, and bravery, keeping historical memory alive and inspiring younger generations.” Referring to the new exhibit, he noted that it represents “a modern approach to highlighting a glorious institution.”

This was followed by a greeting from the Chairman of the Board of the War Museum, Air Marshal (ret.) Mr. Konstantinos Karamesinis, who expressed his particular satisfaction with the collaboration between Fermeli and the teams involved. “The result,” he stressed, “honours our Museum and contributes substantially to making the history of the Evzones accessible, appealing, and comprehensible to the wider public. The synergy between the War Museum and private initiative is bearing fruit with a meaningful impact.”

Next, the President and CEO of PeopleCert, Mr. Byron Nicolaides, took the floor, speaking visibly moved. “For me,” he said, “this project is not just a sponsorship. It is a personal journey of memory. I remember myself as a child, seeing Evzones for the first time at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, just a few days after my arrival from Constantinople. That image has remained engraved within me. That is why I am especially proud that PeopleCert is contributing to a project that highlights such powerful symbols of our identity and history.” 

The Founder and CEO of PostScriptum, Mr. Kostas Konstantinidis, in his own address, underscored the significance of the project and of his company’s collaboration with the War Museum. “PostScriptum has produced notable digital applications for the Museum in the past, but this particular project holds a special place for us,” he noted. “It is an example of how technology, when combined with well-founded historical research and a creative approach, can bring culture closer to the public. The collaboration between the cultural sector and the Armed Forces demonstrates that tradition can be showcased through modern means without losing its depth and gravity.”

In the main part of the event, the President of the Civil Non-Profit Company Fermeli, Mrs. Liza Penteroudaki, spoke, referring to Fermeli’s strategic mission to preserve and highlight the country’s cultural heritage. “The Evzones,” she emphasized, “are not just a military unit but bearers of values, symbols, and ideals. With this new exhibit, we want to convey to the public—young and old, Greeks and foreigners alike—the significance of the Evzones’ presence, to safeguard memory, and to give younger generations a way to connect with history through the tools of today.”

The project’s academic lead, historian and researcher Mr. Aris Katopodis, then took the floor, offering a detailed presentation of the interactive exhibit’s functionality while also speaking about the deep historical and symbolic significance of the Evzone Corps. “The Evzones,” he noted, “are a living symbol of political independence, national dignity, and democracy. Every element of their uniform has its own history and symbolic purpose. The new exhibit allows us to narrate this story in a direct, clear, and engaging way.”

The event was moderated by author Elpida Minadaki, while the presentations were musically framed by pianist Mimi Roufougali and mezzo-soprano Stefania Pappa, creating a distinctive atmosphere that underscored the formal and commemorative character of the evening. 

The event concluded with a reception, also offered by PeopleCert, giving attendees the opportunity to exchange impressions about the new exhibit and its significance.

The evening was crowned with complete success, affirming the creative dialogue between technology, culture, and historical memory. At the same time, it highlighted the vast possibilities that arise when the public and private sectors, cultural institutions, and the Armed Forces join forces. The new exhibit is a prime example of how modern digital technology can meet, support, and elevate traditional academic and historical research, transforming it into a living, accessible, and captivating experience for the public. 

In this meeting of old and new—where the classic narratives of national history connect with contemporary storytelling media—new forms of presenting, understanding, and engaging with our cultural heritage emerge, pointing to a future filled with even more creative collaborations.

“Together we write about Greece, we support the Greek language, and we make knowledge accessible to all.”:

This is the message behind WikiEllinisti, a new initiative designed to expand the Greek presence on Wikipedia and encourage the collaborative creation of Greek-language and Greece-related content. The project was officially launched at the Goethe Institute Auditorium in Thessaloniki on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The presentation took place within the framework of the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025, with distinguished guests in attendance. Journalist Elsa Poimenidou moderated the discussion, and the General Director of ERT3, Cynthia Sapika, delivered the opening greeting.

In the opening panel, the president and administrator of “WikiEllinisti” and CEO of PostScriptum, Kostas Konstantinidis, outlined the organization’s founding vision and future goals. Established as a non-profit civil company (AMKE), WikiEllinisti was created by the Wikimedia Community of Greece —the only recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation in Greece—in collaboration with PostScriptum.

Mr. Konstantinidis described it as “an initiative of national importance” that seeks to systematically strengthen the Greek presence on Greek Wikipedia and other language editions of Wikipedia, through the production and dissemination of Greek-language or Greek-related content. Key goals of WikiEllinisti, he noted, include:
a) the promotion of Greek language learning,
b) the enhancement of digital skills, and
c) the use of open knowledge as a tool for education, cultural understanding, and active citizenship—while also contributing to the development of Greek artificial intelligence.

He further emphasized that the organization’s activities include educational workshops, partnerships with schools, museums, and institutions, as well as collaborative article-writing initiatives (edit-a-thons).

The event concluded with a panel highlighting WikiEllinisti’s connection with Thessaloniki and the potential for collaborations and growth in the city. Mr. Konstantinidis moderated an engaging discussion among representatives of some of Thessaloniki’s most important institutions, exploring how WikiEllinisti could foster partnerships with them.

Mr. Konstantinidis moderated an engaging discussion among representatives of some of Thessaloniki’s most important institutions on ways in which WikiEllinisti could foster partnerships with them.

The Acropolis Museum continues to invest strategically in its digital transformation, expanding its engagement with audiences both in Greece and internationally. As part of the project “Creation of the Digital Acropolis Museum”, a wide range of applications has been developed, showcasing the multifaceted nature of the exhibits and offering visitors enriched and immersive experiences within the museum environment.

Between 2014 and 2024, PostScriptum implemented and supported the MuseumPlus Classic collection management system, which served as a core tool for the digital documentation and management of the Museum’s collections. A total of 27,755 digital records were migrated into the system, linked to 10,557 objects, including all exhibits presented in the Museum’s galleries.

In 2025, PostScriptum carried out the upgrade to MuseumPlus Cloud and undertook the full customisation of the new system to meet the Organisation’s specialised requirements. The process included the migration and restructuring of data, ensuring consistency, integrity, and interoperability across the system.

Today, MuseumPlus Cloud comprises 33,590 artefacts linked to 48,371 digital files, forming the central hub for the documentation and management of the Museum’s collections. In parallel, a targeted staff training programme was delivered, strengthening the effective use of the system and maximising its capabilities.

MuseumPlus Cloud represents PostScriptum’s contemporary solution for museum collection management. Continuously enriched with new records, it serves as the backbone for organising exhibitions and supporting the production of interactive content, educational applications, games, and publications. At the same time, it enables the export of data to the Acropolis Museum website, providing the public with open access to scientific and research material.
