Proving History

Category Implementation of Cultural Projects
Year 2021

In 1994, Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, was referring to the significant role of "storytelling", while a few years later he pointed out the need to marry technology with the humanities, emphasizing that contemporary software must project a communicational momentum. In this "marriage" the narrative develops having time as the main axis, while the digital arrangements are perceived as "images". The challenge here lies when it comes to pairing “narrative" with the "exhibition/display".

The recent collaboration of PostScriptum with the Ministry of Culture and Sports and in particular with the Directorate of Archaeological Museums, Exhibitions and Educational Programs was a unique opportunity for us. There was a fertile ground for creating a canvas where our expertise in digital culture, history and its cultural objects and the challenge of organizing an interactive storytelling around them would live together. A key parameter was to respect the principles of museum narratives in order to support visitor engagement, the internet user in our case.
