Workshop for new applications of archival description

Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) and Greek Archival Company (ΕΑΕ) coordinated a very interesting workshop entitled “New applications of archival description”.

The main focus of the presentation was the AtoM (Access to Memory), an open source archival description software, which meets the needs of the users and covers the current technological requirements. Moreover, the integration of the Greek translation to AtoM was discussed.

Mr. Efthimis Mavrikas, PostScriptum’s partner, took part at the presentations along with Mr. Nikos Pantelakis, archivist-historian and member of the EAE translation group for the Greek version of AtoM (the other members of the group are Mr. Nestoras Mpampidis and Mrs. Ipapanti Kitta), as well as Mrs Amalia Pappa, archivist- Deputy Director of General State Archives (ΓΑΚ-ΚΥ).

PostScriptum participates to the AtoM community, with ArchiveMax and eArchiveMax archival collections management system and their implementation for the documentation of important collections just as the recent example of the Cavafy Archive indicates, as well as to the Greek community of EAE for the integration of the Greek translation to AtoM.
